Situated about 14 kilometres (9 miles) from L’Estartit, Pals is one of the most interesting places in the region in respect of nature and history as well as for the variety of its landscapes (spectacular views to the nature reserve of the Medas Islands) and its cultural heritage. This ancient village with its gothic origin is one of the most amazing and famous places of the Baix Empordà. You can visit the Romanic tower of the old medieval castle (XI-XII AD), the Sant Pere church, the impressive town wall, the Plaza Mayor, and the cultural museum Ca la Pruna set in a majestically fortified house of the 15th/16th century.
